Why should I trust Minuteman Powerwashing?
We are a small, local company that is as professional as any but is more personal than most. We take pride in our work and the owner plays a large part in every job done. We ensure quality work and customer satisfaction every time.
What is the difference between pressure washing and power washing?
While often used interchangeably, power washing is a more general term for cleaning using a variety of techniques, whereas pressure washing specifically refers to cleaning using high-pressure water. Power washing includes pressure washing, soft washing, chemical application, and other methods of cleaning.
What cleaning solutions do you use?
The best cleaning solution will depend on the type of material and type of dirt or stain you want to remove. Organic growth (such as moss and algae) can be cleaned with a bleach solution. Inorganic materials (such as soot stains from a dryer vent) will require a degreaser but will not react to bleach-based solutions. Always check to make sure your cleaning solution is compatible with your siding material and the desired effect. We typically use top-of-the-line professional products from Front 9 Restoration and EacoChem.
How do I pressure wash my house myself?
Pressure washing is NOT the recommended method to wash a house. The correct method is soft-washing, which is much safer for the siding. Soft washing is the preferred method of washing a house because it is safer for the siding materials and will be more effective at removing stains and growth. Additionally, the chemicals used in the soft wash process will delay the regrowth of organic material for a period of time following the wash.
How should I wash my roof?
Never use high pressure to wash a roof! It will damage roofing materials and shorten the life of the most expensive aspect of your house. Instead, debris should be mechanically removed, and organic growth should be soft-washed. For debris removal, soft-bristle brushes and leaf blowers work well. For soft washing, a homeowner can use laundry-grade bleach. Professionals will use the most appropriate detergents and equipment to soft wash your roof. Professionals are recommended as their tools and techniques will be the safest and most effective.
